The facts on file
- Description
- Azure Database for PostgreSQL is Microsoft's fully managed open-source PostgreSQL service, sold primarily as Flexible Server with an Elastic Clusters option, where Azure handles provisioning, patching, backups, high availability and scaling. It targets teams already standardised on Azure that need managed Postgres with zone-redundant HA and in-database AI features such as pgvector and DiskANN. Azure SQL Database is a separate product built on the SQL Server engine and T-SQL and should be evaluated separately.
