Company information

The facts on file

Description
Jenkins is a free, MIT-licensed open source automation server for building, testing and deploying software, run on-premise or on infrastructure you own and extended through a large plugin ecosystem. It ships in two release lines — a Stable LTS baseline rebased every 12 weeks with 4-weekly backport releases, and a weekly line for faster features. It suits teams with a dedicated platform or DevOps function that need air-gapped or highly customised pipelines rather than turnkey SaaS CI.
Products
Jenkins automation server (LTS release line), Jenkins weekly release line, Jenkins plugin ecosystem
Markets
SMB, Midmarket, Enterprise
Integrations
GitHub, Jira, Bitbucket
Pricing
Not published (no paid plans sold by the Jenkins project) · free tier: Entire product is free — Jenkins core is MIT-licensed and downloadable from jenkins.io/download with no seat or build-minute limits
Regulatory
Jenkins core, most project infrastructure code and many plugins are MIT-licensed, and the project encourages hosted plugins to use MIT — but 'many' is not 'all', so plugin licences must be audited individually for compliance. Project assets are legally owned by Linux Foundation entities via the Continuous Delivery Foundation (previously Software in the Public Interest, Inc. until 2021). No security-advisory cadence, plugin CVE counts or vendor compliance certifications were retrieved in this session.
