Lemon Squeezy is a merchant-of-record payment platform for digital goods and SaaS, bundling checkout, subscriptions, global sales tax/VAT compliance, fraud prevention and payouts into a single per-transaction fee. As legal seller of record it collects and remits tax on the seller's behalf, which is its core value for small international software sellers. It was acquired by Stripe in 2024 and the team is now building Stripe Managed Payments as its successor, with a stated migration path for existing users.
