- Description
- Neon is a managed serverless Postgres platform that separates storage from compute, meters usage in Compute Units, scales to zero when idle, and offers Git-style database branching with copy-on-write storage. It is sold in three self-serve plans — Free, Launch and Scale — plus an application-only Agent Plan for AI agent platforms, and targets prototypes, startups and production teams that run many mostly-idle or spiky databases. Neon has been a Databricks subsidiary since a May 2025 acquisition reported at approximately $1 billion.
