- Adyen N.V. is licensed by De Nederlandsche Bank as a credit institution (pan-European banking licence granted 2017), permitting cross-border acquiring, payment and banking services throughout the EEA under CRD IV passporting; registered with the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce under number 34259528 and verifiable in the DNB register. US Federal Reserve approved its branch licence (2021) and UK regulators granted a banking licence in September 2023. Complaint handling is contractually formalised for platform customers, with any expression of dissatisfaction treated as a complaint and records retained five years after termination. Terms impose unconditional merchant liability to return settled funds on chargeback, plus an unpublished chargeback fee.
